About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our client, based in Waterlooville, Portsmouth office This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a varied caseload of clients.


• Processing invoices, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.


• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.


• Supporting the wider team with ad-hoc accounting tasks.

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Previous experience working in a fast-paced accountancy practice with multiple clients.


• Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and DEXT.


• Strong understanding and practical application of the double-entry bookkeeping system.


• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Desirable:

• AAT qualification or equivalent (or working towards).


• Knowledge of payroll processing.
