CNC Turning Machinist – Aerospace Manufacturing


Join a leading aerospace manufacturer at the forefront of precision engineering. Wild Recruitment is seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists to support high-spec component production for global aerospace clients.


Key Responsibilities - CNC turning machinist



  • Set up and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc control systems




  • Read and interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications




  • Machine components to tight tolerances and specified surface finishes




  • Conduct in-process inspections using micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, and other precision tools




  • Perform routine machine maintenance and tool cleaning




  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation




  • Follow all health & safety and quality assurance procedures (AS9100 standards)




  • Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure parts meet design intent and customer requirements





Required Skills & Experience




  • Proven experience operating CNC lathes in aerospace or precision engineering environments




  • Ability to program and edit directly at the machine




  • Strong proficiency in engineering drawing interpretation




  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards (preferred)




  • Skilled in using precision measuring equipment




  • Detail-oriented with a quality-first mindset




  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team




  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred)
