Description:

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Operative to support the day-to-day running of a large, serviced business space portfolio in Milton Keynes. This role is central to delivering high standards across facilities, safety, and customer experience, working closely with the Facilities, Reception and Centre Management teams.


You’ll be part of a small, efficient operations team where your practical skills and proactive approach will make a visible impact every day.


Based primarily at our Newport Pagnell centre, you will work alongside the Assistant and Centre Manager to ensure the building operates smoothly and remains safe, clean, and well-maintained. From routine inspections and repairs to assisting with client moves and vacant unit preparation, this is a varied, hands-on position.


You may also be required to support other nearby sites, including locations in Denbigh (MK1) and Bletchley (MK2). Some out-of-hours availability will be required within 24‑hour buildings, with overtime paid or given back in lieu.


Key Responsibilities



  • Carrying out general building maintenance and minor repairs

  • Maintaining cleanliness throughout the premises and ensuring corridors remain clear

  • Conducting regular floor and building inspections

  • Managing reactive and planned repairs

  • Bin, waste, and compactor management

  • Operating a forklift to support client and operational needs

  • Assisting with refurbishments and dressing of vacant units

  • Supporting internal office moves and client relocations

  • Working alongside approved contractors and subcontractors

  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, fire, and building regulations

  • Completing monthly checks and maintaining accurate reports

  • Maintaining building security (keys, access checks, liaison with security teams)

  • Reviewing and following risk assessments

  • Acting as a First Aider and Fire Marshal

  • Providing a high standard of customer service to support client retention


About You


The ideal candidate will have:



  • At least 3 years experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role

  • A valid forklift licence

  • A full UK driving licence

  • The ability to work independently and manage time effectively

  • A practical, problem-solving mindset

  • Strong customer service skills and a professional approach


Working Hours



  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:30am – 5:00pm

  • 1 hour unpaid lunch break

  • Overtime or time off in lieu for out-of-hours call‑outs
