Description:

We are working with a leading Aerospace manufacturer, who are looking skilled sheet metal workers.


The successful candidate will be responsible for building Aluminium, Steel and Inconel heat exchangers using build fixtures and adhering to tight tolerances, given on the engineering drawings. They will also be expected to test the units and support final inspection to meet the highest Quality criteria.


Weekly Rotating Shifts


Monday to Thursday 6.00am - 1.45pm, Friday 6.00am - 12.00pm


Monday to Thursday 2.00pm - 10.00pm, Friday 12.15pm - 5.15pm


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Capable of reading and understanding engineering drawings

  • Forming and shaping components to fit the build fixtures.

  • Ability to work within tight tolerances using thin gauge material.

  • Proof/ leak test units at different stages throughout the build.

  • Daily TPM’s

  • Working with the production team to meet monthly targets.

  • EH&S compliant.

  • The applicant must be prepared to work shifts (AM/PM) when required.

  • Always maintain traceability and Quality guidelines.


Experience and Basic Qualifications:



  • Recognized engineering apprenticeship, e.g., City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent or previous experience in a comparable role.

  • Used measuring equipment i.e. Vernier calipers, micrometers and height gauges.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings.

  • Flexible and adaptable to work shifts when required.

  • Have a good understanding of 5s.

  • Work well within a team.

  • High attention to detail and takes pride in work.
