TOP TIPS FOR FINDING TEMPORARY SUMMER WORK

Category: Candidate

Summer is fast approaching and after a year of lockdowns and restrictions we all need something positive to look forward to!

So, whether you have your entire summer already planned out or your leaving your diary open to last minute plans, why not register for temporary work? It’s a great opportunity to earn, while working flexible shifts that suit you.
With this in mind, here our are five top tips for finding temporary summer work.

START LOOKING NOW.
There may still be a few weeks left until summer officially starts, but you should start looking now. There will be a high demand for temporary summer jobs so get your foot in the door early!

TAKE YOUR JOB SEARCH OUTSIDE.
Many temporary summer roles won't even be advertised online, so don't just rely on your computer. Take your job search outside and speak to business owners direct to see if they require extra staff this summer.

REGISTER WITH A RECRUITMENT AGENCY.
Many local businesses rely on recruitment agencies to find skilled seasonal staff. If possible, register in advance and keep your consultant informed about your availability.

TAILOR YOUR CV FOR TEMP WORK.
When looking for temporary work, your CV should state your availability clearly. It should be primarily focused upon your relevant experience, transferable skills and positive attitude. If you are open to working in different sectors, i.e. hospitality and office based temp work, don't be afraid to make a few versions of your CV.

BE FLEXIBLE.
You probably have loads of things planned for summer already, but snapping up the best summer job opportunities may require you to be a bit flexible with your diary. Set aside time for job hunting, but also be open to last minute interviews and shift work.
